WEST PALM BEACH — One man was killed and another wounded in a shooting in suburban West Palm Beach Wednesday night, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responding to calls about shots fired found two men shot at a home in the 5000 block of Eadie Place, just northwest of the intersection of Haverhill Road and 45th Street, around 10 p.m. Wednesday, according to a sheriff's report.

One man was lying in the driveway of the home with a gunshot wound to his torso. He was taken to St. Mary's Hospital and his condition was not available early this morning.

The other man was found dead in the backyard of the home from gunshot wounds. Deputies did not release the identities of either victim or any details about the shooting.

Deputies set up a perimeter in the surrounding neighborhood and had a helicopter flying overhead, but they were not able to find the shooter. Investigators believe the shooter may have fled in a white vehicle after the slaying.
